ChatGPT Astrology Prompts That Actually Work (Birth Chart, Vedic, BaZi, Tarot)

ChatGPT astrology prompts work when they hand the model a computed chart and ask for interpretation, and fail when they ask the model to calculate placements itself. The five prompts below follow that rule for Western natal charts, predictions, Vedic astrology, BaZi and tarot. Get the chart from a real calculator first; then a prompt can do what a language model is genuinely good at.

The one rule: supply placements, never request them

A language model has no ephemeris, no time-zone database and no solar-term calendar. When a prompt says 'calculate my birth chart for March 14, 1992, 06:40, Manila', the model produces plausible-looking degrees, and the same prompt in a new window often produces different ones. Everything that follows is interpretation of a fiction.

The fix: compute first, then prompt. Every template below has brackets for values from a calculator. Fill them all in; an empty bracket invites a guess.

Five copy-ready prompts

Natal chart. Act as an experienced Western astrologer. Here is my computed natal chart: Sun [sign, degree, house], Moon [sign, degree, house], Ascendant [sign, degree], Mercury [..], Venus [..], Mars [..], Jupiter [..], Saturn [..]. Major aspects: [list]. House system: [Placidus or Whole Sign]. Do not recalculate anything. Describe the three strongest themes in this chart, one tension it shows, and one strength I may be underusing. Use plain language and name the placements you rely on.
Prediction by transits. Using only the natal placements above and these current transits, [transiting Saturn at X, transiting Jupiter at Y, dates of exact aspects], describe the likely themes of the next six months for [career or relationships]. Give one time window, not several, and say which transit it is based on. Do not invent transits I have not listed.
Vedic astrology. Act as a Jyotish astrologer using the sidereal zodiac. My Moon is in [nakshatra], pada [n], my Lagna is [sign], and I am in [Mahadasha lord]-[Antardasha lord] until [date]. Explain what this dasha period usually emphasizes, how it interacts with my Lagna, and what the next Antardasha shift may bring. Do not compute the dasha yourself; use the dates I gave.
BaZi. Act as a BaZi consultant of the Zi Ping school. My four pillars are Year [stem-branch], Month [stem-branch], Day [stem-branch], Hour [stem-branch]. Current luck pillar: [stem-branch], [start to end years]. Do not recalculate the pillars. Identify my day master, assess whether it is strong or weak by season and roots, propose the useful god, and explain how the 2026 Bing Wu annual pillar interacts with the chart.
Tarot. I drew a three-card spread for the question: [question]. Past: [card, upright or reversed]. Present: [card]. Advice: [card]. Interpret each card in the context of the question, then give one combined reading. Separate what the cards say about my state of mind from what they suggest about the situation. Do not draw new cards.

Where these prompts stop working

Any bracket you leave empty will be filled with a guess, presented in the same confident tone as the rest.
Long conversations drift. After several turns the model may quietly restate a placement wrongly; paste the chart again when you change topic.
Chinese systems need calendar conversion the model cannot do: BaZi month pillars change at solar terms and hour pillars follow true solar time, and Zi Wei Dou Shu has too many placement rules to apply from memory.
Predictions are still opinions. A well-prompted model produces coherent transit commentary, not verified foresight, and it will happily give three timing windows if you let it.
